About the Project

The Northwest Rail Corridor is a proposed 41-mile commuter rail corridor from Denver Union Station to Longmont, passing through North Denver, Adams County, Westminster, Broomfield, Louisville, and Boulder.  As part of the voter-approved FasTracks program, the Northwest Rail environmental evaluation will identify the best way to provide high-quality, reliable transit service to the area while improving travel times and enhancing access to jobs, recreation and entertainment.

The Northwest Rail environmental study process will include:

  • A community involvement process

  • An analysis of the environmental impacts of implementing commuter rail

  • Full disclosure of how the project impacts surrounding communities and environmental resources
