First Rail Cars Move Out on the Tracks
The first two rail cars were pulled along the East Rail Line tracks on Friday, April 3, 2015, to kick off the year-long testing phase leading up to opening day. Here's what it looked like.

Commuter Rail Station at Denver International Airport
These photos were taken Aug. 9, 2013, to show progress on
construction of the RTD commuter rail station and the new Westin Hotel
at Denver International Airport.
RTD Making Tracks to DIA
These photos were taken July 17, 2013, and show the track crew from Denver Transit Partners installing rails along the Peña Boulevard portion of the alignment around 64th Avenue, west of Tower Road.
Approach to Denver International Airport Station Area
These photos, taken June 7, 2013, show the East Rail Line's approach to DIA's Jeppesen Terminal. The tracks will pass under the terminal access roadways and emerge into the south terminal area where a Westin Hotel is under construction along with the RTD train station. You can see the passenger platforms taking shape alongside the trackway at the base of the hotel.
Rail Welding for the Tracks to the Airport
Denver Transit Partners construction crews have begun welding steel rail along Peña Boulevard. It's a process called flash-butt welding, electrically forging a connection between rails for a smooth ride on your trip along RTD's commuter rail lines.
Commuter Rail Bridge Construction Over Peña Boulevard at DIA
Work began in June on the 1,953-foot Commuter Rail bridge over Denver International Airport's Peña Boulevard. Look for this work on the north side working its way southward.
Broadway-Brighton Bridge Girder Installation
Six prestressed concrete girders were placed over the Broadway-Brighton Boulevard underpass in the Coors Field parking lot during an overnight street closure April 4. This is the first bridge to go under construction on the East Rail Line.
Completion of Coors Field Parking Lot Work
Construction of drainage improvements, track alignment walls and utility relocations in the Coors Field parking lot during the Colorado Rockies' off-season wrapped up well ahead of first pitch. Take a look at the completed work.

Workers on the East Rail Line are busy in the Coors Field Parking lot, relocating water and sewer lines and constructing a concrete wall that will frame the
